Studio Roses (and preview of a WIP)

I have been working on a large painting of a still life. Needed a break and these roses provided the perfect opportunity. Struggled with them at first and had to wipe the canvas. Glad I decided to to stick with it and try again.

This is my largest painting yet (24x36). I have been working on it a week or so. I want to show contrast (red v green, light v shadow). Here is the still life I am working from:



I think it will take another week or so to finish. I am excited about it.
